As mentioned in my previous post, I know I have been MIA for a few weeks with updates, not that I have thousands of people waiting to hear what we've been doing with one of my blog updates...but trying to declutter and simplify things and focus on what's important takes a lot of time. Plus a toddler who will be THREE in 3 short months who is ALWAYS on the go with so much energy...I am wiped at the end of the day.
So, yes, I know that Mother's Day was more than 2 weeks ago. It was a busy weekend, but pretty quiet, if that makes sense. I took Friday off to get a massage I got on the cheap from Living Social and in the afternoon I went to the Mother's Day tea at Tommy's daycare. We planted flowers and had snacks with the kids, and got to go home early. Tommy and I played outside for two hours, and I made a point of leaving the phones in the house to just enjoy the time with him.
Saturday Tommy and I headed to my sister's so that I could play the role of soccer "god" mom for the day with my niece Alexis, since Karyn and Dave had to work. Tommy and I were on the playground for most of the first half but got to watch the second half at least. Oh, and I let him pee in public 2x while we were at the game. We walked by the ONE port-o-potty at the fields and Tommy of course asked, "What's this?"I explained, opened the door, and he was immediately hit with the stench to which he replied, "Ewwwwww! It's stinky!" So as to not regress in the potty training we'd done to that point, I decided we would NOT be using the port-o-potty when he had to go. I really don't think too many people will begrudge me since we were in the midst of potty training. And he did pee next to the port-o-potty one time!
Alexis was staying overnight with us, so we went to the boardwalk that night for some fun and games. We were out quite a bit that day, and Tommy never had any accidents - best Mother's Day present to see him take to the potty training so quickly.

| Melts my heart to see how big he looks here, knowing to wave to us |
| I am pretty sure this is his favorite ride |
| First time on a boat! |
| Fascinated by the water; I was afraid he would be reaching in, but he never did |
| Mommy and Tommy on the ferris wheel |
| He loved being able to look out at the ocean and be as high as the birds |
| Lexi and Tommy tell the papparazzi what they think of her! |
| But someone still loves his Mommy! |
| Too cute...he looks like he knows how to really ride |
| So glad that Lexi was there to go on the Dizzy Dragons with the Tomster...not Mommy's favorite ride... |
| I told Lexi it was a mini version of the Tilt-AWhirl...which she was upset we could not go on. |
Sunday we relaxed around the house and in the yard, Tommy went in his little pool, and Daddy worked on building Tommy's swingset (I'm getting to that post..the swingset is not quite finished yet - I'd say we are 2/3 done with construction after 3 weekends...and I think the post might be done before the swingset is...it's a LOT of pieces and a lot of time!). Lexi was a great help all weekend and Tommy had fun with his cousin. I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with my sweet little boy, and am so grateful that he chose me to be his mommy!
