Everyone has their own idea of what their 'pot of gold' would be if they were to find one at the end of a rainbow. I think for Tommy, his pot of gold would consist of a park - the biggest park you ever saw. He loves to go to the park - even though we have that new swingset....which he does enjoy as well. If we are heading home from daycare or an outing, and I ask him what he wants to do, he says, "go for a bicycle ride to the park."
I like that he says bicycle ride, as that allows Mommy to get in some much needed exercise, since I am seriously slacking in that area of my life. And biking with a 30 pound toddler sitting in a stroller-like attachment to the back of my bike is quite intense. Thankfully, our neighborhood park is not that far, though I admit that when I bought the attachment, I thought we'd be going on some like rides on paved trails...that has yet to happen...I can do 20 miles in an hour spin class, but I need to work up to towing a toddler along outside!
The Easter Bunny brought Tommy a kite this year, and we wanted to use it last weekend since there was a little breeze. We ventured (drove - it was too far to bike ride) to a new park, one behind a school that we pass every day on our way to Tommy's daycare, as there is a wide open field adjacent to the playground.

As cute as this looks, Tommy was actually sulking here because he wanted to fly the kite "by myself" and it kept nosediving since the wind had died down considerably from our afternoon at the beach.

This "new" park was nice because we were all by ourselves, no big kids for me to worry about knocking Tommy over, like our neighborhood park, which while nice, it's a hang out for kids of all ages, including kids who are way beyond the playground stage. But Sunday afternoon Tommy and I walked to the neighborhood park and played for over an hour, until the clouds started to come in. Suddenly I was sorry I did not take the bike, as it would have gotten us home a bit quicker. We did, however, make it home before any rain came, by about 5 minutes! After the storm, we were treated to this:

Notice it looks like the rainbow ends in the tree in our neighbor's yard, behind the swingset? Thus, Tommy's pot of gold!

I like to think that this rainbow ends at the beach for my pot of gold!
