Healthy and Happy!

This past week Tommy definitely feels even better than he was - and I can't say enough how little this baby complains if he isn't feeling okay. At our follow up appointment with the doctor on Tuesday, we found out his right ear was good but his left ear was still infected. So he got a shot of an antibiotic which Tommy was not very happy about! He still had some wheezing, though while improved, the doctor was a little concerned it was still there, so he gave us a steroid to give him via the nebulizer in addition to the albuterol we are already giving him. He gets each medicine 2x a day. As of today (Sunday) he sounds pretty clear to us, but we are continuing with the treatments for now and will probably call the doctor tomorrow to ask. We do have another follow up appointment on Friday morning. The doctor did ask about asthma in our family, and while no one on my side has it, John's sister and brother suffer from it, so it is a possibility of something we will have to deal with. I did mention to the doctor that Tommy has two fur-brothers (I know, I'm a dork) and that we are hoping that is not the problem. While the doctor did seem to focus more on allergies and asthma, anyone else I talk to says it's all most likely related to daycare. Hopefully they are not telling me that to just make me feel better.

The weekend was long and short - I actually think I had a case of food poisoning from my lunch on Friday (a salad from my favorite place to get a salad from, which I won't name, because I could be wrong and can't prove it). All afternoon it was not sitting well with me, but I also started to feel really tired and exhausted on my drive home - more than usual, and I was praying that Tommy would go to bed early so I could too. He did go down very easily that night, and I got to bed around 10, but not after having to take some Immodium, and I was concerned about having an upset stomach. I woke up sweating in the middle of the night at one point, and still felt "off." When I woke up on Saturday, I did end up getting sick and while that was the end of the "off" feeling, I was just exhausted and wiped out the rest of the day. What made things worse is that John had to work on Friday night and did not get home until sometime after 1:30am - I think that's when I woke up sweating because I called him to see when he'd be home, and then he worked all day Saturday. So Mommy was still on duty despite not feeling very well., making for a long weekend for me. I was just hoping it was not a stomach bug I had though, as I did not want our little sweetie pie getting sick! But now the weekend is over, so now it seems so short!

I went to bed early on Saturday night but go figure, Tommy woke up several times during the night for us, even having a bottle at 4:30am, which has not happened in so long I can't really remember! I was still feeling blah most of the morning but after showering I did a little gardening and went off for a mani/pedi while John was home with Tommy. Afterwards the three of us went on a little shopping expedition that you can follow from the photos!

This is from earlier in the week on the way to school - we just thought he looked so cute in his new sun hat!

Tommy LOVES to watch Tux and Tails when they are around him! Tux is sitting on the dining room chair, and while you can't see him, Tails was under the table. Both were sunning themselves!

Tommy feeling pretty bored on his first trip ever to The Home Depot. We waited forever for them to bring out the flooring we ordered for our laundry room.

Tommy woke up in time to look at new sliding screen doors for the back porch, as he wanted to remind us to get one that was sturdy enough for when little kids might push into it!

Tommy feeling right at home at Costco. We went in for diapers, wipes and paper towels. Those things DO NOT TOTAL UP TO $250.00. John just HAD to buy the BBQ potato chips they were sampling
(they were good!). And we might have picked up a few other things. But I'm convinced it was the chips that put us over the top.

Tommy at the checkout at Wegman's grocery store. We don't go there often, and I'm so mad I forgot to check if they had the special angel hair pasta salad I love! I can make my own, but Wegman's is the best!
Tails is modeling one of Tommy's bibs - isn't it hot? And that mess behind us - I was trying to organize Tommy's food in the cabinets and get organized for the week. I am such a neatnick I can't believe I didn't look at the background before posing! My hair is looking really awesome too. Thank goodness Tails is blocking my mouth, as I probably had something in my teeth.

And giving equal billing to Tux - he definitely is more of a Daddy's boy than his brothers are!
We are looking forward to seeing Grandma Cathy and Aunt Maria (John's mom and sister) later this week! They will be in NYC for a girls weekend with another aunt and cousin, and we are still trying to figure out the particulars of the when and where for the visit., as they have some set plans and John and I each have to work one day over the weekend (me on Saturday, him on Sunday). We have not seen them since November when they visited for a few days and we had Tommy's christening. He was still a little peanut then, so I hope they've been working out so they can pick him up! We will definitely have some pictures to post from our visit!

  1. Boy, you have had some stomach issues this year, ugh! Poor little Tommy and his ears, but seriously, think how strong his immune system will be when he goes to school?!! I sure hope he doesn't have Maria's asthma. If so, he still will be JUST FINE!...didn't ever stop Maria! I cannot wait to get our two little ones together...this summer lets plan something!!! xoxo
