Pick A Sport, Any Sport

As you saw from the birthday pictures, Tommy received some sort of sports equipment related to just about every sport. 2 soccer goals, a basketball hoop, a t-ball stand, a golf bag and all types of balls - footballs, basketballs, soccerballs...you name it. The kid has amazing hand-eye coordination. He favors his left hand and left foot when throwing or kicking, though he is not exclusively lefty. Neither John nor I are lefty, but someone recently told me that being lefty or righty is NOT genetic. No one in John's immediate family is lefty, but my dad, brother, and uncle (my dad's brother) are all lefty. Every guy who sees him throw lefty gets really excited when they see Tommy throwing with his left hand. Apparently if he is going to play baseball, we want this to be the case.

While I am not "pushing" for a particular sport for Tommy, both John and I are definitely going to encourage soccer, since it's a sport that we both played most of our growing up years, and have a strong understanding of. But if there is a sport that Tommy wants to try as he gets older, we will of course encourage him. For now, he's a multi-sport athlete. I didn't get any pics of him using his two soccer goals, but he especially loves the one that cheers when the ball hits the net. He loves to take turns with us throwing balls into the basketball hoop. When I see him placing the ball on the tee and try to hit it on his own, I'm impressed. And he'll try to hit any ball with the golf clubs of course.

Trying to decide which sport to play...sometimes he plays both at the same time

Looks like he's eyeing the basket here

Looks like he's going to swing righty here...so much for my lefty theory....
