Before Thanksgiving Gets Here...

...I'd better get our Halloween pictures up on the blog!

We went to the Halloween party at the golf club that John works at on Sunday, and then dressed up on Monday for the Halloween parade and party at Tommy's daycare.

Boots and Dora getting ready to leave for the party on Sunday

Diego was waiting for us at the party at the golf club

Diego, Boots and Dora

Boots LOVED the ducks who happened to be named Dora and Boots

Boots loved the pony and even sat on him for a ride!

Stopping to smell the flowers!

Boots found the cookie table very quickly!

Tommy hanging with Meema after a fun weekend with her

Boots led his class for the Halloween parade...crying, because Dora ran out of the room to go and watch the parade

Diego and Boots wait for the snacks

Dora got caught eating the munchkin off of Boots' plate...but Boots had taken a bite and didn't want anymore!

Dora and Boots off to trick or treat

Tommy gets the credit for coming up with the idea for our costumes...since he's been on such a Dora and Diego kick the past several months.

I found Tommy's costume on eBay. At first, I was in a bidding war...mind you, I had just opened an account because I never bought anything off of eBay! I was willing to spend up to $25, and the bid was up to $42 when I logged on after a few days. I finally found some "buy it now" options and found someone selling it for $27.95 which included shipping. I ordered it on a Saturday morning and had it in hand on Monday!  That seller got a 5-star rating from me!

John and I put our own costumes together; my wig was the splurge at $20, which I was disappointed was not brown, but everyone was able to figure out who I was.

Tommy enjoyed the petting zoo at the golf club's party, but it was "too loud" according to Tommy when we were inside the ballroom, so we didn't stay that long. The parade and party at daycare was fun; I made the mistake of going into Tommy's class before the parade, so he ended up getting upset when I left to go outside to watch and take pictures. He was hysterical as he led his class around the building...poor Boots.

We went trick or treating when we got home, Tommy said, "home Mommy" after only 5 houses on one side of the street.  So we crossed back to our side and did 3 more houses, and then Boots helped give out candy to the trick or treaters at our house. He was a HUGE hit to all the kids who came to our door, and Tommy really seemed to enjoy seeing all the kids in costume.

As for his candy take, all Tommy cared about was the lollipops...which he only got 2 of.  The kid has a thing for lollipops now that the weather is cooler...it's the winter version of an ice pop!

I did ask Tommy what he wanted to be for Halloween next year, and his answer is:  Boots. If he's as into Dora and Diego this time next year, I am sure I'll be glad that the Boots costume is a size 2T-4T!  Me, however, I'm not sure I can go dark with my hair again...it freaks me out when I look at the pictures!
