The Santa Diaries...and a Naughty Cat

Tommy had three meeting with Santa Claus this month...

Earlier in the month we visited Allaire State Park to take Tommy on the Santa Express, a train that goes around the park, which Santa Claus rides and visits with all the kids on the train.  We had tickets for the 4pm train, which happened to be the last train of the day, and unfortunately, since we were the last people on the train, we did not have the greatest seats...we were in the 2nd car (the caboose), and didn't really have a great view.  Tommy did not seem to mind though.
I told Tommy there was misteltoe above us and he had to give me a kiss!

Telling Santa that he wants a purple kitty cat for Christmas (note the safe looking pipe thing behind where we were sitting?)

A week later, we were over our friends' house, and Santa came by on a fire truck with gifts for Tommy and Caroline and Jackson, who lived in the house we were visiting.  Tommy got a Thomas the Train playset, while Caroline and Jackson got a surprise trip to Disney World! Their mom, my friend, had a sales conference down there this past week so they surprised the kids by telling them at the last minute they'd be joining in on the trip!

Tommy opened his gift all by himself!

Santa was so big and tall he completely hid the Christmas tree!

Giving Santa a fist pump as a thank you!
And look who decided to regress 3 years and become an ornament again in our Christmas tree?  Yes, that would be Tails in our tree...we broke him of this habit at least 3 years ago, and suddenly, he's back at it!

And just this Monday, I picked Tommy up early from daycare and took him to see Santa at the Ocean County Mall. We went there last year and were thrilled with the authentic Santa they had, and the line was not bad at all.  Big Mommy fail was that I forgot the stroller.  Tommy was great while we waited to see Santa, as he loved looking at the display, but after our visit with Santa he had ants in his pants and did not want to wait on line for us to purchase our pictures.  The photo came out awesome...here's the one I took that is not as close up, but it was nice they let you take photos yourself so long as you made even the most minimum purchase from them.

Happily smiling, after telling Santa AGAIN that he would like a purple kitty cat.

Missed it by a second, but this was a good shot before Tommy looked down.

Tommy has been insistent that he is on the NICE list, though we have been utilizing the  "do I have to call Santa up and have him put you on the naughty list?" line quite a bit this month. And it usually works.

In reality, this little boy really is on the nice list...sure, he has his moments, but what 2 year old doesn't?  He is a ball of energy, but a loving, kind-hearted little boy. And let's just say we are pretty sure that one of those Santas he asked to bring him a purple kitty cat got the job done (with help from just about everyone who asked what he wanted for Christmas on the hunt...but it was Meema who found one for $4.99 at Marshall's!)...along with a few other things that we are pretty sure Tommy will really enjoy.
