We All Have Colds Again!

I got this shirt from my cousin Malu who lives in Holland!

Mommy and Tommy time just before bed - and yes, we are already in St. Patrick's Day mode!

Tommy doing his tummy time with a smile this past weekend!

Tommy, John and I are all battling colds again. Tommy has the sniffles and a cough but so far remains the happiest baby in the world. John and I both woke up with sore throats yesterday but have been congested and coughing for a few days. Hopefully we all shake it soon. More SNOW is predicted here in NJ Thursday afternoon into Friday, but we are hoping they are wrong. The prediction is 2-20 inches...huh? Guess it depends on how this storm comes in.

This weekend Tommy and I visited with some college friends of mine from Rutgers and everyone could not believe what a HAPPY baby Tommy is! Again, we continue to say how blessed and lucky we truly are! In spite of his cold, Tommy is eating and sleeping pretty well though some days he takes more formula than others. We just had our 4th day of carrots so next up is the sweet potatoes I think.

This past Sunday was my niece Alexis's TENTH birthday! TEN YEARS OLD! I remember the day she was born and going to visit her in the hospital! The family party is this coming Sunday and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with Tommy's oldest cousin! She loves him so much - I called her on Sunday and sang Happy Birthday in a disguised voice, totally off key, and of course she knew it was me (funny side note - she writes "Anut Suzie" on all my cards and when I correct her that it should be "Aunt" she just gives me a look like, uh huh...so I think she does it on purpose!). Her first question to me was, "How's Tommy?" Not, 'what did you get me for my birthday?' She is really growing up! She loves her little cousin so much and I know he loves her too!
I am working basketball games tomorrow night (Wednesday) and Saturday night and then next Thursday night, and then the season is over. I do have a few events in the spring - end of year banquets and the spring football game, but for the most part I will be entering into the off-season and going into "prep" mode for next year, which hopefully will be a productive time for me so I'm not totally insane come the fall when football starts up! I have to say, it has not been that bad of a transition back to work; I was fortunate that we had a nice schedule for the second half of the season and it wasn't too crazy. Unfortunately, it's been a difficult season for both men's and women's basketball. I will miss seeing my little guy before he goes to bed those nights I am working - he is just so cute after he has his last bottle and we say our prayers and 'talk' with one another (see above photo). Of course when I get home I will go in and just stare at him - I do that every night long after he has gone to bed!

  2. Gosh, Tommy, you look so handsome !! I can't believe that shirt fits him already !! MalĂș has a shortsleeved army green one with her name on it and she didn't wear it until she was 8 months old. It still fits her now (she is 10 months old). Love the blog !! Love from all of us xx
