Couch Jumping and Diving

I'm not sure John or I will be winning any Parent of the Year Awards for allowing this, but let me put the disclaimer out there that one of us is ALWAYS in the room and with Tommy on the couch or on the floor next to the couch when this is going on...yes, the latest craze amongst toddlers - couch jumping and diving!

I mean, look at the smile on his face - I bet you can actually hear him laughing if you look at the pictures long enough! I even tried it myself one night - last week the Rutgers men's basketball team ended up upsetting Villanova and I was jumping up and down on the couch (while sitting, not standing) and got some good air. I can understand why Tommy enjoys it so much!

The good thing for now, is that Tommy is not quite able to catapult himself or climb up on the couch by himself - YET. Key word there. We know the day is coming. Fortunately, he's been pretty good about sitting himself down and sliding himself off the couch when he wants to get down. Of course we are afraid he's going to jump and end up falling off. In fact, I'm betting that's going to happen at some point. Hopefully it won't be for a while - when he's a bit older and can take the fall a bit better.

You'll also notice that he's got a ball - and various different ones, with him on the couch. loves to throw them while jumping around. I think he's going to be getting a trampoline for Christmas or a birthday someday...

Yes, he's got the football IN his mouth. Could not get a better shot of it straight on, but he knew he was being funny. And he took a bite out of the ball.

I know for sure Tommy will have many more fun tricks and games up his sleeve after discovering this sport at such a young age!
