So the swim lessons seem to have paid off! Tommy had a great time this weekend jumping in the pool at our friends' Denise and Mike's house. We actually had a tough time getting him to get out of the pool he was having so much fun...but the trick is to offer him a snack and a drink in case you are ever in that same situation.
Oddly, he is still not a fan of the baby pool we have. He did go in it on Saturday because my niece Alexis just picked him up and took him in with her. But he did not really sit, stand or play in it very long. He got in and out a few times, threw his toys in it, and thankfully, because it was just so brutally hot and unfreshing, decided he wanted to go in the house after only a short time on the deck in the pool.

And here are two videos of Tommy in the big pool...one of him jumping in the pool. While we don't have video of it, at one point he ran away from me and jumped in the pool where there was no one to catch him! I got to him immediately because he just went from one side of the low end to the other and the pool is not that wide, and he came up laughing like it was the best thing in the world. He is CRAZY! At that point, I decided to put on the swim vest/swimmies that I picked up a few weeks ago for him. He's got it on in the second video, which features Denise's brother Billy throwing Tommy in the air. Again, he LOVED this!
Yes, I purposely did not catch Tommy on that one throw from Billy. And once again, the Tomster came up sputtering and laughing and asking for "MORE!"
I drove home content, thinking we wore the kid out and he'd sleep really good since he's been up at least once a night for the past several weeks, due to more teething issues. The bottom eyeteeth popped through last week. Next up would be the second molars. But he woke up within 30 minutes of me falling asleep, and I was in bed early for once!
