Arizona Day 2, Part 1

We slept over at Dennis and Kim's house in Tempe on Friday night. John and Dennis played golf, while Kim and I took Tommy to the Arizona Mills Mall with plans to go to the aquarium at the mall. Before we left, Tommy and DC rolled around on the floor and posed together:

Tommy pretending to be a dog

I'm pretty sure he was saying "Ah Ruff" here!

Nice puppy!
Tommy was overdue for a nap by the time we left for the mall based on the time he was up that morning (5am...so much for sleeping in on vacation), so he crashed within 3 minutes of being in the car. He was so tired that he did not wake up when I transferred him to the stroller, and Kim and I got to walk around and have an uninterrupted lunch at the food court.  Tommy slept for almost 2 hours...I of course was thinking, "now, this could not have happened earlier, when I could have napped with him at the house?" As mentioned we were up extra early that morning, and my allergies were AWFUL. Ragweed is a predominant pollen in the desert, and that is my worst fall allergy. I have had minimal problems this fall back home in NJ, but as soon as we arrived in Arizona, I was completely congested, and even lost my voice over the weekend.

But after a 32 ounce Diet Coke, I got some wind back in my sails, and Tommy eventually woke up. He spotted the mini merry go round which I took him on. As we were getting off, I noticed a sign that said, "minimum age - 3". Oops!

After a few distractions en route, we finally made it into the aquarium, which Tommy really enjoyed.

Although I'm smiling here, my stomach was queasy from going in circles. Give me a crazy roller coaster any day!

Fishies!

BIG Fishies, as Tommy called the stingrays we saw

Tommy loved jumping on the graphic on the floor, as the water "moved" in the image wherever he jumped

Ginormous crabs - biggest I've ever seen!
After a quick stop back at Dennis and Kim's to feed DC, we headed out to my aunt and uncle's house again to meet up with the guys and have dinner.  Stay tuned for Part 2 of Day 2!
